SUNDARA RAMAYANAM
About the Project
According to traditional understanding, the events of the Ramayanam took place in the Treta Yuga of the 24th Mahayuga, in the current Vaivasvata Manvantara. Even though it belongs to a very ancient time, its meaning and teachings still feel relevant today.
The Ramayanam begins as a search. Maharishi Valmiki once asked Devarshi Narada a simple yet powerful question, is there a person in this world who truly has all good qualities? Someone who lives with truth, courage, compassion, and dharma.
Devarshi Narada replied by telling him about Lord Rama of Ayodhya. He spoke about Rama’s life, his birth, his exile, the struggles he faced, the abduction of Sita, and how he finally defeated Ravana. What started as a question slowly became a complete story. Inspired by this, Maharishi Valmiki wrote the Ramayanam as a way to show how dharma can be lived in real life.
The Ramayanam is not just an ancient epic. It is a guide for life. It speaks about things we all think about even today, how to live honestly, how to face difficult times, and how to do what is right. Through Lord Rama’s life, it shows an ideal way of living that goes beyond time.
Today, many people want to understand these teachings, but it is not always easy. The language and traditional formats can feel difficult, especially for younger generations.
At Bhagna Dantah, we see ourselves as a small step in bridging this gap. Our goal is to present the Ramayanam as it was told by Maharishi Valmiki, but in a way that is easier to understand through manga and animation. We focus more on the character and values of Lord Rama than just how he looks, so that the true essence of the story remains intact.
Through this, we invite you to experience the Ramayanam in a simple and engaging way, a story that has been told for generations, now brought closer to you.
